What should i wear for photos?
The short answer: SIMPLE IS BETTER! Black or white clothing will usually look the most flattering for any individual. Shades of blue are also a great option, especially for family photos. You can look for inspiration in the photo galleries found in the Galleries Menu.
The long answer: It really depends on your skin-tone, the theme of the shoot, and whether the background of the scene will be dark, light, or a specific color.
The best way to figure out what to wear for a shoot is by talking with Lizzie.
As for accessories... please don't wear your Apple Watch, Fitbit, or any other electronic fitness band. Unless it is for a fitness campaign, they are very distracting in photos and not very classy-looking. Please remove all hair ties from your wrist at least 15 minutes before a scheduled shoot as to allow the red mark on your wrist to fade. Hair ties look a bit tacky for a professional photoshoot. This also goes for any colorful wristbands and bracelets with words or distracting patterns on them. Little details like this can ruin a good outfit. Unless the photoshoot theme is fun, colorful, and crazy, any friendship bracelet-like accessories will almost always look out-of-place.

what should I do to prepare for a shoot?
Please please PLEASE put vaseline on your lips! Dry, crusty, bleeding, peeling lips make you look dehydrated and sickly. Also very important: pretty please brush your teeth! No one wants to edit Cheetos out from between your teeth (true story). Please make sure to blow your nose, too! Having a bat in the cave can get pretty spooky for someone who will most likely zoom in on that face on a big screen... late at night. Keep your hair looking clean and neat! Keeping yourself well-groomed will level up your photos. Lizzie will take care of any blemishes, pimples, and wounds while editing, so no need to cake on your makeup. Putting on way too much foundation can sometimes makes it harder to achieve a "natural skin" texture for the final product. It is much easier to get rid of pimples than to smooth out an entire face of makeup without making it look like a filter. Lizzie wants to make her job and YOUR job easier!
How should I do my makeup?
Simple and natural is ALWAYS better! Lizzie strives to keep her art style clean and classy. WARNING: This blunt opinion may raise a few eyebrows (and some heart-rates), but natural lashes, naturally shaped brows, and spray-tan-free complexions will NEVER go out of style. Thick eyelash extensions make your eyes look heavy and it can make it SO hard to see your beautiful eyes! As for contouring your face, keep in mind that your photoshoot will most likely get some up-close shots of your face, and having a prominent brown streak or orange outlines on your face will draw attention away from your eyes. So many people don't realize how naturally beautiful they are, and showing people their unique beauty is what makes being a photographer so incredible! Of course, there are always exceptions to this! If you are planning a creative shoot, or colors or crazy makeup is part of the theme, then appropriate "over-the-top" makeup looks are a must! Communicate with Lizzie on what will look best for your upcoming photoshoot!
In summary, find makeup that compliments and emphasizes your best features, instead of covering them all up. Remember that makeup trends will fade, but photos will last forever. Natural never goes out of style.
As for (artificial) spray-tans, just keep in mind that you may turn out orange in your photos. Embracing your natural skin-tone will always look like the most-authentic version of you!
